Struggle Against Hunger + Daily Bread

One of the main focus ministries of the Salvadoran Lutheran Church is providing care and support for all who struggle to put food on the table. The struggle for food security falls under the ministry umbrella of "Care for Creation and Risk Management" and is coordinated by Pastor Santiago Rodriguez. El Salvador is a place a beauty, but also a place where tropical storms and earthquakes can wreak havoc. The Greater Milwaukee Synod works closely with Pastor Santiago and other church leaders in the ministries of food security and the struggle against hunger.

Families receive seeds and 2 trees when they have completed their training sessions. Money from Lutheran World Relief covers the cost of an agricultural engineer who teaches the workshops and does site visits with families and communities to check on their progress.
